Fund Details
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
These instruments are the fastest growing method of planned giving currently being offered. They appeal to donors making contributions of all sizes starting at $10,000, and the process is simple:
- Donor fills out a short form and names the fund
- Deposits funds or securities
- YouthBridge sets up the account and manages the funds according to the donor’s wishes.
The Donor receives an immediate full charitable tax deduction up to 50% of their Adjusted Gross Income within a single year. After the donation, the Donor makes charitable distribution recommendations at a time of their choice. You can easily track the fund balance online and make distributions to the designated charity regardless of their location.
For those individuals working with wealth advisors, YouthBridge will leave the donated funds with the manager of the donor’s choice. If a fund manager is not specified, we will deposit the funds in YouthBridge’s existing organizational fund account.
YouthBridge is in a position to assist the donor in making beneficiary decisions. We work with numerous charities both large and small helping them to understand “Best Practices” used by the business community. We directly help these agencies to meld their mission priorities with solid business sustainability strategies.
Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRT)
A Charitable Remainder Trust is an irrevocable trust that pays income to the donor and/or to family members during the term of the trust. At the end of the term, after the trustee has made all of the income payments and usually at death, the remaining assets are distributed to the donor specified charities. The donor has the flexibility to determine the income distributions, the income recipients and the asset recipients when the trust ends. These trusts achieve several significant financial and tax goals including:
- Bypassing capital gains taxes on assets contributed to the trust
- Increased income over the lifetime of the donor or other family members
- An income tax charitable deduction at the time of contribution
Charitable Lead Trusts (CLT)
The CLT is the opposite of a Charitable Remainder Trust. In a CLT, the trustee pays the income to the charity and the remainder is distributed at termination of the trust to family members. Creating a Charitable Lead Trusts usually results in an immediate income tax charitable deduction to the donor as well as potential estate tax savings.
Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs)
Many financial planners use Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts to replace wealth given to charity or charitable trusts. YouthBridge can asist in coordinating the total charitable plan by administering the ILITs.
Gift Annuities
Legacy Gifts
The easiest way for most of us to make a lasting contribution to our community is by leaving a percent of our estate to the charities of our choice. The legal work is quick and easy, and our attorney can draft such a will amendment for you or you may do so with your own counsel.

Wealth Advisor Collaboration
We partner with you. We’re here to help the donor and advisor create a personalized philanthropic giving plan by providing planned-giving expertise, knowledge of the charitable community, community foundation administrative services and financial management when required.
We follow the donor’s wishes. It is not our intent to channel donor funds to pre-selected charities, however, we ask that the donor ear-mark a minimum of 50% of their funds for children’s charities. We are a full-service community foundation and will facilitate donations to all charitable agencies. Our offerings in this area include planning, administrative and financial services. Donors may choose to remain anonymous, receive acknowledgements upon gift distribution or define their level of involvement.
We offer a range of financial services. YouthBridge will follow the donor’s preferences on the management of funds. When requested and when acceptable to the wealth advisor, we will establish the necessary accounts with the financial institution specified by the donor. YouthBridge can also assume the financial management function.
